  • spider coil tesoro cibola

Hello, i've a spider coil 21x24 cm, 14-18 khz of tesoro cibola, the inductances are, RX:15,38mh 66 ohm and TX: 0,95mh 4,6 ohm, it's possible to use it in tgsl with some changes in the resonant circuit.

Almost certainly, Ive recently put a Nel Hunter for a Tejon on my IDX - So give it a go.

yes but how and what to change to suit the coil.

You need some test kit eg scope or counter

As the Tx is a small L you will need more capacitance added in your box close to the connector or cable end to give the original frequency of approx 14kHz

The Rx capacitor will need reducing as the Rx coil L is big.

If you make a capacitor switch box with an 8way DIL switch and a range of caps e.g. 1n, 2n2, 3n9 4n7 6n8 10n this will be enough - you can tack this in place where the original Rx was.

In use on a test coin in the ground, you can select the best capacitor for good sensitivity - but not too difficult to use over the ground - as if the Rx coil is resonant close the the Tx frequency it will sound off a lot .

The absolute frequency of the Tx is not a big issue. If its a couple of kHz off it doesnt matter too much.

I use an IDX which was about 6kHz in the original - I use approx 13kHz Tx.

I understand, I will try with some capacitors, thank you.
