I Hope this helps someone. Salt had gotten into the cable. I was going to replace the cable and add some weight to it. But i nicked the inner coil wire opening it. I replaced the coil. New coil also floats. Very annoying they should have made a special coil for the Surfmaster instead of just adding a yellow sticker to the 9.5.
