  • One size fits all?

Whenever I read the threads on here about coil making the inductance measurements are given etc and it all seems a very complex business. I was looking today at an advert for the Detech

SEF WSS coil 10"x5" new out this year and was very surprised to see that the same coil would work on a huge variety of makes of detectors. I always thought that most detectors needed a coil specifically designed to suit their electronics. Can anyone explain how SEF are able to make this one size fits all coil.

After reading their advert, I suspect you will have to specify the detector that the coil is to be used on. All they're claiming is that this "type" of coil will be available for the range of detectors listed, NOT that a single version of this coil will work everywhere.

Thanks Qiaozhi, Yes, I obviously misunderstood the advert. Thanks for clearing that up for me.
