  • dfx coil on xlt

    hi i would like to put dfx coil on xlt both whites i understand dfx is two frequency's and xlt is one can any one tell me if it can be done or will they work ?

      ok why are they so different the machines look the same and even share most of the same programs graphics and controls if the coil for the dfx can do like 3khz and 15khz and the xlt is 6.59 khz sort of
      in the middle is there two different coils in the dfx coil as one for each frequency ? or some voodoo going on ?? just would like to understand why ?

        Well the DFX is probably fully digital where the XTL is still somewhat analog.
        The analog one is tuned to resonance and the digital one is set up for a wide
        frequency range so they need different coils...

        The manufacturer will make them appear the same from the outside for brand
        recognition.

          ok thanks its just i play with radios and similar thinking like metal detector transmits on a frequency and radios do and you have to tune the Arial for the frequency that you want to transmit on thats why i was wondering hope you understand where my mind was going ?

            wot i would like is an elliptical coil 6" X 9" to use on the xlt is there any thing apart from having to make one some thing i could change the plug or something like that ? or a dd coil ?

              put dfx-mxt coil on dfx detector, xlt coil on xlt detector. where is your trouble???

                He can't get a 6x9DD for the XLT.
