So I had some leftover Litz (176/46) but not enough to make a 300 uh coil. I
wound it up to 6" to fit in this type RS detector coil shell;
It's a handy rig as it collapses down to easily fit in the car or whatever.
Here's the coil with the Litz installed. Note the bump, I wound it to 6 1/16" and it
needed to be 6" exactly. I had superglued it to hold it's shape when removing from
the coil form so couldn't rewind it.
Well it only came up to 150 uh so I ended up winding the rest of the coil out of
some other wire. All I had was some PVC coated AGW 24 so I used it.
300 uh exactly and 1.5 ohms not too bad. And it may ruin it but I glued the coils
down with some shafting epoxy. This is the cheapest I found on ebay.

Now to just get a tiny board for it. I'd like to make some SMT HammerHead boards.
And fill it with batteries and go to the beach!
