  • Why is this resister attached to both ends of the coil?

Not having a firm grasp of electronics, I do not understand why this resister is connected to both sides of the RX coil. I would think that it would be attached in line on just the black wire. Can anyone please explain this? I am preparing to wind my coil today. All of my supplies have arrives except for my shielding. Thanks

The Infinium is a PI design, and the resistor is for damping the effects of parasitic capacitance. The brown coil is the TX coil and probably has its own damping resistor on the electronics board.
