  • coil for surf PI 1.2

    Hello friends
I recently bought a kit of self surf PI 1.2, I wanted advice on the construction of a coil that gives me high performance.

I am in the same boat as you (were, 2 years ago..) did you find a good one?
Is anyone willing to chip in with some advice on their experience with this?

    Cheers,
    PP

best i have done is use the coil calc aim for 350 to 400 mh, and just build a simple round coil if you have a tester even better

Buy One. On Sale. Cheaper then you can build one. https://www.whiteselectronics.com/pr...t-super-pulse/

Thanks for the tips guys.. I like the look of White's 14″ TDI Elliptical Mono... I would buy it. Too bad I'm in Australia as they don't ship out of North America, and they don't have a dealer here.

I recently bought a component tester on Ebay. it does all the passives (LCR) and discretes too (diodes, BJTs, FETs, SCRs,..) and only cost $15 or so. I guess I will try that for the test coil at least.

Can you explain me please how should i choose the right coil for the detector? tx pulse freq have to match coil freq?
                  Thanks

Can some one tell me how inductance influence for detector depth? I now have 10,5" coil which have 460uH inductance and detection distance is about 10" for 1€ coin. Original surf pi has 230uH coil and kosacid recommed 350-400uH, so do i have to reduce inductance to get better results?

                      Yes.
All of this has been covered multiple times on multiple threads here. Please have a "womans look" prior to starting another thread. Search or advance search. My suggestion would be jumble wound@ 300-350uH (or less) .25-.50mm - check resistance - or basket weave (easy to make on plastic coated cardboard form) .5mm approx. Odd number of slots at 1 inch or less. (Pictured below).
