Need help with coil points on apb 1.2

I have been working on this project for a while, and have been trying to figure out the pin sites for the coil. I have seen a two pin plug in at the coil site on other boards but I only have one connection site for the coil! where do the two wires go for the coil it is a monoloop? Any help is appreciated. I just get a steady tone but it does not recognize any metal.

I should add that I know one wire goes to the coil point but not the second site.
I have been thinking to disconnect all wires except power, tune, volume etc. and start from there. Also I will check all parts are the proper ones.

The coil connects to the two holes ether side of the word COIL

I connected the coil to the board, I get a steady hum but can only detect my kitchen garbage can nothing smaller its a start. Could it be possible a chip may be faulty or any other ideas?
as I move the board around some times the volume increases about double.

Anyone with any ideas, I am in the process of taking the covers off of the coil so I can verify the turns etc. for tuning.
