Surf pi shield or other problem?

I got problem with my surf pi..its working great with unshielded coil but it doesnt work on of my several barracuda shielded coil.. It keep on sounding and cannot able to detect.. Any idea why??

maybe you should connect coil shield to the circuit

Is there a "gap" of 1cm or so included in your shielding?

you'll need to ground your shielding to your board and yes make sure you have a gap in your shielding like WM6 mentioned

Hi wm6! My coil is made of cat5 wire. The gap is only on the two ends of the loop.. The coil works good on barracuda except for surf pi.

French, yes all my coil shield is grounded to my board.

Does your coil start to work at maximum sample delay? If so it is 'slower' than your other coil that does work.

Secondly have you tried to set critical damping on the coil that does not work? It could be that the two coils are different enough that the damping only works for one coil and needs adjustment.

Thanks Dan! Yes maybe it us slower coil problem..i will check it out..about damping resistor yes i already set critical damping but the same problem exist.
