So my friend asked me to repair "fisher coinstrike" metal detector. It has a faulty lead where the plug connects to the control housing. First i measured resistance of those wires and they where as follows:
Pin1 and Pin3 = 860ohms, Pin2 and Pin4 = 3ohms. Then i have tried to wiggle lead near the connector, but i did not notice any difference in readings. Then i tried to measure both lead grounds together and i got from 300k to over 400k reading...
I assume both ground leads should not be connected together??? See attached picture.

I think i was accidentally measuring my skin resistance instead of the cord
. Took my measurements again, this time with crocodile leads and there is no connection
