  • Fisher coinstrike coil repair question

So my friend asked me to repair "fisher coinstrike" metal detector. It has a faulty lead where the plug connects to the control housing. First i measured resistance of those wires and they where as follows:
Pin1 and Pin3 = 860ohms, Pin2 and Pin4 = 3ohms. Then i have tried to wiggle lead near the connector, but i did not notice any difference in readings. Then i tried to measure both lead grounds together and i got from 300k to over 400k reading...
I assume both ground leads should not be connected together??? See attached picture.

I think i was accidentally measuring my skin resistance instead of the cord . Took my measurements again, this time with crocodile leads and there is no connection

I thought the Coinstrike was a CZ-5/6 in disguise. I read 3 ohms and 30 ohms on my CZ-6 I just got...

I have redone the coil cable, but still it goes crazy so i suspect that socket is to blame. I'm going to tear it down tomorrow and take some pics.

I need to gain access to that chassis mounted coil jack, but i can't figure it out how to take it apart... LCD is blocking from sliding it along with the connector and if i try to lift it i can't because coil jack is in the hole on the chassis. It looks like LCD is permanently attached to the main board via plastic on the bottom. Maybe someone has taken apart something like this and can give me some hints ?
