4 pin to 5 pin garrett

I have a 4 pin garrett dm-5 bloodhound and a 5 pin garrett grand master hunter. I just got them can I rewire the dm-5 to work with that detector ?

garrett said nope dm5 is for the older 5.5 detectors

Like ADS I use my DM-5 on- 5.5. Mine is 5 pin, the ADS is 4, so made an adapter lead.
