  • Is it possible without issues

Is it possible, without issues to fill a new coil with the spray in foam to fill cracks (the yellow filler sold at Lowe's). This stuff expands and becomes very hard after it sets up. I believe the foam would be a lot lighter than the epoxy used to fill manufactured coils.
    Thanks in advance
Figured someone has already tried it.

I use it. Just make sure you have EVERY thing the way you want it. It's pretty much a one way ticket. LOL If your using Carbon Paint or Spray for the Shielding on disc shape coils Cover it with Paper or the foam can lift it .

I've used GE brand and Great Stuff expanding foam gap filler. Seams to work for me, it's the only thing I've tried so I can't compare other methods. If you get it on your hands it takes a few weeks to wear off. When I'm done I spray some in the trash and use masking tape to hold a new 1 1/8 in. #6 wood screw I inserted in the top. Helps to get more than one use. Sometimes get a few uses but it usually plugs before the can is empty.

Yep. One tiny squirt and everything plugs up next time you want to use it. If you remove the Spray Nosel and clean it all out that works SOME times. LOL

Most of time I just push on the side of the tip and save the adapter for when I might need it.
