  • Been upgrading the old PI's.

    Hi all,

I am working on an old coil design to kill the totally overpriced GPZ.
With the series of relative cheap SD/GP/GPX detectors.
    And with the QED.

The old detectors will kill the new GPZ.

    Will kill every PI detector.

We will see a new generation of PI coils soon.

I hope you are successful Aziz. There are many variables to play with. I have been very impressed with my Coiltek 11DD on my SMpro, and strangely a .25mm enamelled wound in a hacksaw slot around a plywood 10x5 on my Baracuda...not quite as sensitive as my GMT E-series on small gold, but getting close.

      Looking forward to your developments.

I will open up all the old gold fields again. The GPX-5000 is becoming a GPZ-Killer! Earlier models too. And will operate on extremely mineralized grounds.

Probably it would be nice to adapt Chance PI (PI detector with discrimination)

          to accept your TX/RX coil?:

I love my White's TDI SL, hope your new coil will give it some more depth!

                    Hi WM6,

yes, it is quite easy to do. But I doubt, that Chance-PI cold handle high ground mineralization. The detector won't profit from the benefits of the new coil. Except for pin-pointing.
The new coil is destined for extreme ground mineralization for gold fields.

                    Cheers,
                    Aziz

I am getting a solid 2"+ more depth out of my Elite 14" round mono on nuggets in mild to medium ground, as compared to a 12x15 commander stock coil. That flat wire tech is good stuff. However my 14" round elite bottoms out at 13" on a 1.3 grammer, I need a coil that can hit 1.3-2 grammers at 15"-16" like the GPZ does. Maybe the 18" coiltek Elite coil could do it, not sure.
