  • shielding concentric

    good evening everyone,
I seek your knowledge for the shielding of the coils.
I built a concentric coil of 30 cm. it works very well....on my work plan ....
is it possible to paint the bottom with shielding guitar cavity paint?
here is the picture of the coil holder.
What do you think is the best method for a good result?
thank you all.Click image for larger version

    Never tried it

The shield is very important. I have had a few fails. Its sometimes hard to predict what will work and what will fail.

However if you paint a square and measure the resistance across it will give a good idea.

I would stay away from any Metallic Based shielding paint. Use Carbon Based.

Apparently many of the guitar paints are graphite based, but I didn't find any information about conductivity.

[QUOTE = Davor; 238615]. Blijkbaar veel van de gitaar verven zijn op basis van grafiet, maar ik heb geen informatie over geleidbaarheid niet vinden [/ QUOTE]

            Good evening,
yes it is this painting .. exactly the same .. I give you the test results on a piece of cardboard as soon as possible.
tonight I did a test of conductivity with a graphite pencil 6b ... 100kohm / 1cm .. is that good? what should be the good value of conductivity?
            thank you

                Pencil on paper failed
zinc carbon battery on cardboard worked. for a short while. Unfortunately it corroded the tap wire
                graphite powder and varnish worked
Graphite powder and PVA glue worked
                Graphite powder and epoxy failed
                Graphite powder and UHU failed

please do not send messages anymore. I prefer all the other members of the forum by far. they are much more informative than you.
                    good night.

you have to learn electrostatic fields Nature itself. its first. then you will go. your personal attack on me... i did see 1000th them here.

is it good example of ELECTROSTATIC FIELD influence or not?

Maybe there is simple solution. Has anyone ever tried experimenting with this? It would be very easy to cut and paste if it worked.

Or maybe you could just wrap around coil for shielding.
