I've got a Garrett GTAx 550. It's an oldie but still my favourite detector to date.
Garrett don't make the coils to fit this model anymore.
How difficult would it be for me to modify a newer Garrett coil to this existing 5 pin configuration.
It's runs at 7kHz.
Whilst the old Crossfire II concentric coils are still available (various sellers in Italy on eBay) I'd like a larger DD coil, something like the 10x14 DD.
Any thoughts? I'm quite the beginner!
