  • whites treasuremaster coil inside

    hello,

can anybody give a pic of a coil inside? i try tune the coil but no success.
owner remove a glue and maybe with something.
his buddy said he opened a coil cleared from water and see wire loop 2x3cm.
i try balance with the loop and see only slight change.

I knew of a Treasure Master, made back in 1959 to 1961 or 1962. It had 4 or 5 coils with a hole in the middle. There was a 6th coil sold as an option. These units were BFO models, and tuning was by a null control. I have no photos of the insides of any of the coils.

KT is referring to the newer TreasureMaster, basically a Prizm redesign.

KT, if you are talking about a small shorted loop of wire, those are used to tweak in the R null. It's usually done for high frequency coils (like GMT), I'm surprised they would bother on a TreasureMaster coil.

thank you Carl and Melbeta. yes, its modern one.
i got the coil opened. thermo glue was deleted by owner and he can say nothing about the loop.
probably he did not notice it. but his friend said him that saw the loop in coil.
at monday i will do pics of the coil and share them.

            Carl

can you ask somebody in whites what wire diameter they use for the shorted loop in the coil?

            thank you

Probably they wouldn't tell me. As I recall, it was around 30 AWG.

Is that the Rx null?(bottom trace on scope)

top trace is TX. 10V p-p.
bottom trace is RX null, on output of opamp. closed loop gives >10 times better balance that without. but i do not see that distance increases.

Is the Rx coil tuned by C13? And what do you mean by "distance increases"?
