  • Making a coil less sensitive

What can you do to make a coil less sensitive as it is already
    - maybe 10-20% ?

Cutting the wires and add some resistor would be my idea.

Why? What kind of problem are you trying to solve?

He is detecting every girl walking in 50m range with huge EMI.

place a small part of metal on one side of coil to imbalance the the tx/rx shift relation
maybe a small self adhesive copper or alu foil

dont now if it is better before start up process or after
i thin better is during detection when detector is powered on already

before starting seems not good the elctronics would re-Balance it i think

Add small piece of ferrite, it affect only voltage of Rx. If you place there any metal, you will also move phase shift and affect GB and Disc...

How are you defining '10 - 20%' ? 10% less depth, I guess, because 10% drop in coil voltage will make no difference that you would notice (2% depth loss )
I assume you don't want to modify the detector electronics, as that will affect the performance of ALL your coils, not just this particular one.
If you halve the gain of your pre-amp stage, you will lose about 14% depth in theory. And less EMI, hopefully.

keep a coil more above the ground. on 10-20% plus of normal distancy.

If you are looking for shallow target turn the machines sensitivity down

The problem is that the Racer Model #1 with 30 cm coil #1 is so extremely
sensitive that the gain has to be at 39 of 99 - otherwise only BEACH mode
(beach mode - not b*tch mode - but you can find them on the beach )
works. I guess the preset ground-balance could be the culprit for this.

Adding some metal directly to the loop sounds good but is a bit like the
20-50 cm nearby Aluminium stem. And perhaps shifts the ID values.

btw. since I modded the Racer with "pinpointing trigger always on"-switch
I also can use this but the drift is pretty high - after each 30 seconds that
switch has to used again or otherwise the sensitivity is no longer useful.

I hope the Makro Kruzer with inbuilt permanent-pinpoint-mode has solved this.
