  • HDPE coil housing

I have an idea to make coil housing from HDPE plastic salvage from everyday plastic garbage such as plastic bottle caps etc. Anything made from HDPE.
The mold would be made from concrete or something similar. Then put pieces of HDPE plastic into mold and heat in oven. Presto.
Mold is made by placing wooden shape of coil housing flat unto wet concrete up to but not covering the wood. When it is dry, the wood is removed leaving the shape of coil housing impressed onto the concrete. Of course the wood shape will include cut out for coils. Now just to fill with cut up pieces of HDPE and to put in oven.
    What do you think?
The HDPE plastic would be cut up into very fine pieces almost like pebbles before being but to the concrete mold, see?

I like the Idea, however, seems like more trouble then worth, its a lot simpler making a form and vacuum forming a sheet of ABS, But as far as experimenting goes, its a great idea.

HDPE plastic put into osterizer blender, cut up into fine pieces then poured into mold and into oven @350degrees for 30 minutes or so. Like baking a cake.
I'm gonna try it. First to kidnap wifey blender without any suspicion.

With HDPE there is more energy and tools requirement. I am already looking for cheap way to heat ABS. Share if you have a idea.

Reason for HDPE plastic, it is most commonly available from a variety of everyday consumer products, while ABS is not so common. The triangle with the 2 inside and underneath you see LDPE,MDPE or HDPE, almost everything is going to be polyethylene plastic. 350 degrees is melting point. H stands for High density.
There are videos on YouTube on HDPE plastic molding.

Last year i discovered that HDPE is cause of worse pollution. So much so that a environment impact assessment and special permission of authorities was required for setting up a HDPE recycle plant. And i read so much on how its various forms produce bad gases.
