New coil test

Hello Good morning to all the Forum, I wanted to kindly ask the Gurus an information, I have a baunty hunter platinum, which works at about 7.8 Kh I wanted to ask if it was possible to work with a different coil, always respecting the inductors for the TX, but increasing the RX coil a lot to get a better yield. The two coils are tuned with conduits located inside the electronic circuit. Another question if I can use a reel already balanced or I have to build a new one?Thank you very much for your reply

I use a detector with 4.8khz, 6.5khz and 12khz. Makes no noticeable difference on the size of targets I am interested in.

Size of coil yes. I find more smaller items with a smaller coil though. The rest of the machine make more of a difference. My favourite is the 4.8 fisher. Which has been the most successful. including a Tiny 1.6g gold ring from the 1600's, half a Charles I penny and half a Roman minim

for to search any coil for geotechers i projected coil tester. i send he board on request. you can connect capacitor with known value to coil
and measure resonance. you can search the compatibility of any coil.

If you wish. You cannot increase the depth of detection by simply increasing the Rx coil strength, if you know about lambda, you wouldn't be asking such silly questions.

The moderator moderates, I couldn't care less. I am like fun finder, it is contagious. Mikeb said it all, especially Dave, Rx resonance is a matter of an RCL formulae. To enhance the devices performance, one must know, like you KT.
Put some saliva on your index finger, and hold it up to the sky.
Try log and anti log in opamp calculations, then do it in matrices. KT my friend.

Just knowing the inductance is sufficient, the resistance is a matter if residual, capacitance is then applied like a thief in the dark. Like a tuning fork,Mozart!

DB, there are two ways - you can bring the fish to a man, every day, and you can to TEACH the man to fish.
