DD coil for clone Pi W

Anyone know how to attach DD coil to clone pi W

Simple, break connection of R3 at R1. Connect RX coil to R3 and where R1 & D1 connect.
Then ADD a damping resistor across the RX coil to obtain critical damping.

Study the original Hammer Head schematics for how to do this.

I will be receiving a DF to play with. It has a crappy coil cable. I will be attempting to replace the coil cable but while I'm at it I may like to add a coil interface cable and then perhaps a switch or coil adapter for mono/DD coils.
Would it be worth doing? I have a GP extreme - would these coils be worth trying? I could try other mods like increasing the TX voltage, improving preamp, reduce sample delay, if worthy of doing. Not sure. I have a surf pi and pi pro now this and want to settle on one of them and let the others go. Need to lessen the pack but still would enjoy doing mods.
