  • 3D PRINTER COIL HOUSING

I've got a friend who has two 3D printers and by looking at his work, he can make about anything. Anyone one here ever had a coil housing made in this fashion?
Working on a coil for my TDI. I've got the 6" dual scan but feel a true mono is best suited to hunt the old schools where coal waste is scattered everywhere. But I must say I've found the very best gold jewelry with this 6" coil. But hey, I'm playing and that's what I enjoy. Ever learning but never becoming an expert.

Just started yesterday to do some investigations on design of a double-d coil. First demo housing is printing at the moment. Modell can be found at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3449817.
        Dimensions are
        - width: 350mm
        - height: 200mm

This is for balancing tests of the two coils inside and the epoxy to fix them and make it water proof. Also testing the setup of the design for weight reduction will be done.
When finished printing, I will post a image of this demonstrator

But you are right, with 3D printer, the limit is your mind.

        Cheers
        Holger
