Mono coils are rather easy to fix. Are you sure its not possible to repair.

i had answered you. your coil is last of Eric's designs and 1mH coil (MILLI-). we recall it 'high inductivity PI coil' because standart coil is 300-380uH (MICRO-).
any coil from/for CS4PI and GOLDQUEST SS will work.

Thanks a lot for your reply, KT. The GQ stuff is pretty hard to find. Did a plastic melt repair at Biull Lahr's instruction but there's still a break in the shielding at one section it responds to your hand. regards

how did it get broken in post?, if it was ok when posted then its someone else's problem.
ccscope will sell you the correct coil, or try ebay maybe you could pick up a cs4pi or cs6 coil, it all depends on your budget really.

I'll start looking although not very often you see anything from CScope besides the whole machine--maybe in the
                U.K.
As you can see from this pic its a superb build (BHID case) I will spend whatever is necessary to get a decent coil on it. Click image for larger version

Hi Clive, I could build you a new coil as I still have many of those shells. I would need the cable off your bad coil though as I don't think I have sufficient left and it is hard to get (unless you order 1000 metres). Shells are black or white. Personally I prefer white for use in the water. Also I would need the red swivel as none of these left, so best send the whole coil with cable. PM me if this is of interest.

                    Eric.

Thanks kindly for the offer Eric.
a buddy of mine has the machine now gotta see what his idea is.
Would said coil have comparable shielding to the original--it was remarkable --Foster's best im told. I would be sending the entire coil.
                      Kind Regards

Clive, that's probably the best offer you'll ever get, having Eric Foster remake a coil for you!!!!

Both of the coils in the picture were made by me, not CScope. At the time I used swivels made of red PVC and the one on the faulty coil looks as though the swivel had broken at one point as there appears to be a white collar around the base. At that time I used lead tape as a shield, which was in fact suggested by CScope. However, this tape is no longer available as it is classed as a hazardous material. I now use nickel plated copper woven fabric tape which is at least as good and is more flexible. The lead tape was prone to fracturing if stressed, which maybe what happened with your coil, although a clean break at the end of a spoke is not that close to the coil shield.

                          Eric.

PS the white collar was put on by Bill Lahr himself we talk all the time.
