Anybody heard of Russian X coils for PI, they appear to be new and are a supposed to be a combination wind of flat and bundle ?

Yes you got it right, for the gpz they have combo of flatwire and regular bundle wraps, gains can be inches over stock coil, depending on size of X coil, they making gpx coils as well jury is out on if they any better than elite or evo coils. But if you got a gpz7000, they will transform it. Not cheap. I have a friend in Nz testing prototypes now. His hunting buddy is testing prototypes of x coils as well on his gpz, has had super results in worked out nugget patches so far with a 10"X9",

Not part of the design team, just a friend of a friend that is testing prototypes now. There is quite a bit of information on a gold forum in australia. Under Coils then X-Coils.

Hi, have you heard anything about the construction of how they are doing the spiral and bundle winding ?, I assume the spiral is on the bottom of the coil and the bundle is on top,
I'm just trying to figure out the advantages of the new configuration .

Maybe a key word is flat wire.
I know this is not a x coil but notice the tx is a square wire bundle. Looks like a braid of some type.

                  Thanks for posting this 6666
I had not heard of these coils Ive been out of it for a while as far as prospecting advancements go.
                  So it is very interesting.
I was able to find this comment on Detector prospector From Daves Gold.
                  "G'day Trent
I have a reply from the manufacture, "Simon's coil winding is not a bundle or a spiral. She has something in between. It can be called semi spiral"

                  cheers dave."

Was also thinking about solid flat wire. If wound flat it would be like a pwb coil if the wire is wound vertically more like a transformer.

Had not thought about it much before but what about skin effect in a flat wire?

If we have a skin depth that fully permiated a 30 awg wire, could we in turn use a 26 guage wire flattened to the same diameter as the 30 awg?

Would the skin get full penetration of the wire or maybe at least have a much larger surfeace area for the generation of the magnetic field and recieve signal?

I cannot seem to find any models of skin effect for flat conductors, Can any one help me out there?

I was able to find referance to the tTX being spiral and RX bundle wound.
Also looks like the price is 1200to 1300.
Is that correct could that really be the price?

Thanks for the info, so it sounds like it has a separate TX and RX winding, what currency is that price ? if its Euro's or USD no body could pay that much.

I think the russian X coils with spiral flatwire wrap, is on the transmit side only, the receive is still bundle wound. This design is best on the gpz7000.
