  • Llitz Wire Sserved vs Unserved

    Question for the brains trust.

Would there be any issue if one used unserved Litz wire to make TX coil winding ( coil intended for a ML GPX 5K). I can?t see a problem as each strand of the wire is insulated with a polyurethane coating but I?m interested to hear what coil builders think.

Can you explain what mean "unserved Litz wire"? Not known term for me. Thanks.

Served usually has silk threads and or a paper wrapping over the magnet wire. While unserved looks like a bundle of bare magnet wire.

I constructed many basket weave coils using the Litz wire you described, my coils worked fine with no problem. James
