ie poor shielding gives falses on wet grass. it must be clear for understanding.
True, but the Rx front end of the TGS is a balanced amplifier, so now I am beginning to wonder about the concentric coil RX. Is it possible that it is also a centre tap RX coil? The centre tap is grounded to the shield within the housing, So you wouldn't know
I wager a bet that the old tesoro concentrics were with a centre tap.
Who wants to prove this right or wrong?
Anybody ever open up a tesoro concentric to check?

I dug up some pics of a tesoro concentric coil.

Have a look. I count 5 wires coming from the area of the Rx and buck coils. I point them out on the pics.
      Check it out.
On the other hand, that extra wire could just be a drain wire running under the coating to other region of the casing!?!
It looks kinda skinny. However, this same wire is connected to the shield(look at top right of pic where i have indicated)so it is possiblely C.T

Anyone out there has a tesoro concentric, can measure from both ends of the RX coil to the shield(ground pin). That would verify once and for all whether it is centre tap or not. However, if the C.T is grounded to the GRAPHITE(by soldering to a strip of copper then painted over by graphite) then it may not be discernable by measuring to the centre pin!. So the jury could still be out.

I hate to admit it, but what I said above is complete rubbish,
Turns out that the tesoro rx coil is grounded at one end at the back of the connecter inside the original tesoro chassis box. So that puts to rest all doubts.
There is NO centre tap on the rx coil for the TGS. The falsing on wet grass issue boils down to improper/inadequate shielding.

          KT315, you are absolutely right.

I have made an DD coil, and i have problem on wet grass.i have tx and rx conected both to ground and shielded just rx,i have terrible false signals on wet grass, should i seperate rx from ground and should i shield tx?how do you run tesoro DD coils on wet grass?help please?

pics from you because i think you use kitchen foil, not graphite.

                No kitchen foil,
                Black one is grafite rx,

By the way instead of graphite 65kohm i use liquid GEM,200ohm

No the graphite layes is not touching the wet grass, its an closed coil,i opened it now,i have 3 wires that goes to the pcb,tx+rx+shield goes to ground in board..i will try to seperate rx from ground putting another cable with 4 wires,by the way i have no false signals at my voncentric coil on wet grass,i hope that DD coil can do the same job,did you connect 1 wire of rx on the ground on your DD coil? If i seperate rx from ground should the problem get solved?
