VLF coil use for PI metal detector

Yes i saw that, but can we use a manufacturers coil, or would it not be worth it because we cant change the paramiters inside with out destroying it, better just to make our own, waiting on a person to send me a bil for this, the surf pro in the sale section, and waiting for silverdog response.
Plus i am still gathering an LCR meter, an oscilloscope, and what ever else i need to build, i ordered a signal generator kit to build and test my soldering skills plus i think it can be used in building coils. I already cleaned my table in my pc room to work on.

The picture is a bit small but if the label says US 4890064, then its the mono PI coil, about 300uH 1 ohm

The label has US 4890064 and US 4894618 plus two more one Canada and Australia
my gold search is the 8 inch pi mono, 5 pin, I use it on my PI QED,
