  • Bigfoot coil in saltwater?

    I bought a bigfoot-like coil called the Beach Hog. Meant for the TDI but put it on my GP Extreme and tried it at the beach. Maybe I didn?t setup the detector right but I found it didn?t like working in the water. Sounded off a lot. Worked great in the wet or dry sand though. Good depth. Should this type of coil work in salt water? I am asking for use with pi and maybe detectors like a Equinox or CTX if I find an interface chip...? I didn?t expect the saltwater to have an effect but maybe the GP sample timing is too short? Is there a control on the Extreme to stretch it out? I?m now thinking to try it on a surf pi in place of DF coil...

    I am not familiar with this detector but I see that there is a "Salt" setting, I assume that you had it selected.
