  • what voltage of wire to use for coils

Should we use 300 volt or 600 volt in making our coils.
IUm talking about the voltage that is listed on the wire or spool, or does it make a difference.

When winding a coil adjacent wires tend to have low potential even when the overall coil sees 600V. The voltage rating applies more to the cable and connector.

600V wire makes a faster coil, because there is more distance between the wire.
The best way for reducing winding capacitance, is to increase the distance between the wires. If the outer wire diameter is equal for the 300V and 600V, then the dielectric of the 600V wire is the better one.
