Mounting position for PI mono coil.

If the shaft mounting position for a PI mono coil is in the centre, then will the wires running from the coil to the centre grommet reduce the sensitivity of the detector? In other words is it better to mount closer to the edge than the centre?

For a super-sensitive gold detector it is preferable to place the solder joints (between the coil winding and cable) close to the center of the coil to prevent ground falsing. So a center grommet is an advantage. For lesser sensitive detectors I don't think you will see a difference.
