Thinking making some figure8 Rx coils for bipolar Tx. 12 volt battery, 7V Tx supply, about 1.2A peak at 160us on time, 2000pps, about .25A average coil current. (fig8 coils.png)build specs with calculations. (spice zip)for each coil using calculated specs. Anyone see something I should consider changing? Anything I'm missing? Was making some wire targets awhile back with magnet wire. Was surprised that I could detect 12 inches of AWG28 magnet wire since coil I was using has about 2000 inches of AWG28 magnet wire(133mm fig eight). Could detect 12inches of AWG28 at 2.5 inches, 12 inches of AWG26 at 4 inches.

Never tried it, no experience, read a lot about it though. Hard to do I understand...
There was an interesting chain of postings here, will try to attach a .pdf file of the posts. Jim Karbowski did it, but he failed as often as he succeeded. So it sounds to me more like a hit and miss operation trying to get the magic to work... Use an old dial up computer, and the damn ability to browse to the file I wanted to post, would not work. Not sure why. But it would not work. So that is it for me now... Sorry!
