    Hello!

In the schematic of compass judge 2, the rx coil is conected only with one side, what type of coil is this and is this correct? Can anyone give a hint of wire diametar and turn, or else, for that circuit?

Looks like center tap is missing, connecting to ground. TX coil as well.

Here's what I have for a Judge 2, it's quite different but may resolve the coil issue.

The first Judge 2 that was made, used up parts from the earlier Yukon metal detectors. Therefore it was a different schematic. Carl-NC posted the 1976 first version schematic, it had tine tune and coarse tune pots. Now the original poster posted a schematic of the subsequent Judge 2 detector, which no longer had the fine/coarse tune pot. The 3rd versions are considered the superior models, with most wanting the 3rd version model. Now it was unique coil, only used for the Judge models and not used on any other Compass models. I was told it was not the same DD coil that was used on the earlier Yukon models, but it worked in a similair manner, but was different.Never quite understand just what kind of coil it was... Do I still have the information I was told? Yes I do. I will post it here for you to read and analize.
Hello, Here Come The Judge!!! Compass Had 3 different 100 KHZ models in the Judge 2 line up.
        (1) The first early judge did not have any push button tuning and very few were made before the updated Judge II came out
        (2) What I call the original Judge II Auto had a small red push button on the end of the handle . The control panel was laid out different and the auto tune had a very fast recovery speed. (much faster than the later Judge). The discrimination was OK but if you max-ed out the disc. control, then just about everything would be rejected. The Judge one with the red button, is called the Judge 1A, and that is the best one of the lot. I had a few of them myself and they are a bit fast in the Auto tune but they are great money finder. Compass later on refined the discrimination levels on the later Judges, but they will not pound out coins like yours. Learn and use you Judge 1A, she will treat you right. Best in Hunting A.C.
        (3) The later Judge II auto was more mellow and depth was not as great as the second generation Judge II A. They have a 8 inch loop that was totally different than a DD loop (& only work on the Judges) was also heavier than the standard 8 " DD loop.
        (4) The only other loop other than the 8" was a Judge 12" and not to many of them were ever made.
        (5) Along with the 2nd generation of Judges was the Judge I automatic and it was like the Judge II 2nd
other than it did not have a meter and did not have the same controls. It was a very good fast
        hunt unit.
        (6) The Judge 6 replaced it. As matter of fact the auto tune from the Judges was so good is why the 77 B auto was made. When the controls of a 77 A were set, it was really a turn on and go detector. Hope this help HH A.C.
