  • Minelab Commander coil shielding (how it works)

I have found on detectorprospector.com website and in some YouTube videos the inside of a Minelab Commander coil.
It seems they use two plates (upper and bottom), appears to be two sheets of some paper coated with some kind of graphite ).
Does anyone here has some experience with this kind of shielding? Are these 2 plates linked one to each other or they are physically separated?
I'm thinking of using this kind of shielding to my homemade coils.

Here is an image of it:

    Thanks!
Garrett Crossfire coils have the same shielding. They connect the top and bottom sections together with a spring.

I've used this Y-Shield, not cheap but you can do a lot of coils with 1 liter.

      https://www.yshield.com/en/yshield-s...liter_421_1397

Also search ebay for "guitar shield paint"

      Another - tiny jar
MG Chemicals 838AR-15ML Carbon Print (Conductive Paint) , 12 mL
