Here's the coil of the above mentioned unit i bought from Accurate Locators several years ago, it's made in China. I haven't been able to do much with it cause my knees started giving me fits shortly after I got it. The VA's getting some braces for me knees so by the time I get my PI done I should be able to swing without too much pain.
The outer foil shielded coil (Tx) is 35 ga. and the inner spool (Rx) is 48 ga..
That small loop of the Tx coil goes up about 2/3 of the Rx coil. I expected a two coil but not anything like this.
