    Conical coils maybe something would get in the air tests but will lose the real ground. I think that the magnetic field in the air to have better reception due minimize intercoil cappacitance. And the real field will reduce the density of magnetic field and therefore less penetrating in depth. Here are some pictures of fast coil with which the "AIR" gets 20% more detection.

      yes , real soil / field tests different to air , but air is a starting point.

      like the expanding foam , i never thought of that , ingenius , lightweight and rigid.

      i'll remember that one.

      many idea's and designs out there , wish all the shapes sizes and patterns of coils were all in one place listed along with some form of standard measurement results for us all to look at.
