  • Concentric coil and multifrequency

    Good evening,

Can someone explain to me why we hardly find, or even rarely, concentric coils with multifrequency?
Example Minelab who has never made a concentric coil on its multifrequency or Rutus who advises against using it on its multifrequency?

    Thanks.

There is no reason, really. The DFX and V3 both had concentrics, as did/do all the CZ models.

      Ok, it’s just marketing.

        That's my take.

I have concentric coils for multi-frequency detectors made by Troch...
          1. Whites Spectra V3- 5.3" and 12" concentric coils
          2. Rutus Atrex - 12 cm and 23 cm concentric coils
          3. Minelab Etrac -8" Detech concentric coil..

Concentric coils are not a problem to use...on these detectors.

I understand and I love the concentric coils on the Tesoro, I had CZ very well.

But as a fan of Minelab I don't understand why they never produced concentric coils on BBS and FBS. Hence my question.

I would have liked to buy a concentric coil for my Elite but it does not exist. Even, I have only seen a very limited number of concentric coils made by other brands for these Minelab detectors.
And to do it, I have no idea what to do.

Compared to Rutus, I read this where they say for concentric coils...

As I recall, Minelab has said that concentrics cannot be made for BBS/FBS. They can, but may require a slightly different construction technique than what's normally used. In any case, there is no reason why a concentric cannot be used on MF, or even PI.

ETRAC work with 8" concentric coil - in 2D and in 3D separation..
