  • Mono Coil Winding to suit Minelab GPX PI

I’m in the process of building a flat wound mono coil to suit a 5k Minelab GPX.
I was wondering what is the correct way of winding and hooking up the coil?
My gut feeling is that winding A is correct.

I don't think there will be any difference. The point in using a flat coil is a more uniform distribution of induction lines (due to the plane of the winding section) and a small inter-turn capacity. If you use a silk-braided wire and or something similar, it will be even better (I apologize for googling the translator).

I agree, probably little or no difference. The GPX stock coil should detect targets above the coil just as well as below the coil.
