  • How to Graphite Shield

    Hi,
Everyone tells something about how to make a graphite shield, but the result does not look very good. Which product should be used and with which method to get a professional result as seen in the picture below?

    Good =
It looks very thin and beautiful, as if it was printed on powder epoxy.

    Bad =
    What we do

1.Graphite of different grades with different resistance. 2.The graphite fraction is different, you need a very small one (like powder).3.The compound/glue / varnish for graphite is also different, with different adhesion characteristics and properties when mixed with graphite.4. The method of application. Either spray or brush. But in any case, several layers (not thick).

It was obviously applied with the spray shown in the picture, it was not mixed with any chemicals. Can you share an example application video or product for this?

I use fine graphite (as powder or as cartridge toner). I mix it on varnish. It turns out like black paint, that is, there are no small grains. I apply it carefully with a brush in 3 layers. It turns out exactly. You can buy a conductive spray, for example GRAPHITE 33. But I haven't used them, so I can't say about the quality, etc.

Can you share pictures of your application?

Sorry, I didn't think it was necessary to photograph it). But if you need it, in a few days I will apply the top layer of graphite and take a picture.

Yes, I know the products you mentioned, but we apply them with a brush and the result is not like the "good" picture.

I'm still doing the sensor. But so that you don't have to wait, I took the broken protection for the sensor. And applied 2 types of graphite. Everything is applied with a brush in 3 thin layers. The only difference is graphite, its France. In the center there is a larger fraction-powder (gray color), on top there is a very small fraction-powder (black color). The binder is a quick-drying varnish.

The gray in the middle looks better, can you add a few more pictures? (1 more closely visible texture would be good) Label etc. of the material you use. Can you share? It would be good for graphite and varnish.

Graphite comes in two types. 1.Fine fraction/structure - powder/powder/sand/grains. 2.Scaly/lamellar fraction/structure. Graphite brands, as well as brands of quick-drying varnish, are designated differently in different countries.

probably you are using translation. I can't understand what you mean by "2.Scaly/lamellar fraction/structure.".
