  • Fisher CZ-7a Pro

Good morning guys, I just bought a Fisher CZ-7a pro Quicksilver with an 8" spider reel.
I have been searching but I can't find if the coils of a CZ3D or any other Fisher machine are compatible, if possible I would like to put the 10.5" coil, it is very difficult to find coils for this machine.

I don't know if there are compatible coils from another model or machine.

From what I have read, the coil is nothing special and I think you could use coils from other machines.

I believe the coils from all the CZ models are the same.

Pretty much the same: CZ5, CZ7, CZ70, CZ3D... not sure only about CZ6 though.

Seems like there was a first-gen CZ6 that used a different connector. CZ6 vs CZ6a maybe.

          Edit: Yep, details here.

            Hi,

            difference between CZ5 and CZ6:
CZ5 was; analog, NOT rain/splash/dustproof.... had external speaker.

CZ6 was; analog, rainproof/splashproof/dustproof... no external speaker.

            difference between CZ6 and CZ6A:
Basically the same unit however the original 6 had a molded plug that mated with the control box and also had a pigtail that came out of the opening for the headphones..You can tell if a 6 has been changed to a 6A as the plug is not molded and the pigtail removed and replaced with a black rubber headphone connect...Seems like they had problems with the molded plug and that's why the 6A ememerged....as far as depth stability and the like are the same unit...Of course the CZ6 had that decal on it even if changed to the 6A...and the improved version 6A will have the 6A decal.

"The manual for the CZ6 is the the same as the CZ5 manual", that is why you can't find it.

Same as "CZ7a" and "CZ7a Pro" only have one manual between them in "pdf" format.

            Hope this helps :;@

In 2011, I had a request from a customer to make a larger coil for the CZ3D.
I think I posted the details here on the forum around that time.
I'm currently searching the disc archives but can't find anything written anywhere except for a couple of photos.
Someone with more nerve might find my forum posts about it.
I remember winding the coil with regular Cu wire and following similar specs as above on the WM6 screenshot.
It was unexpectedly easy to make and balance that coil well. CZ3D handled it very well.

Good evening friends, thank you for your answers, I have been testing some coils and the Goldenmask 9" coil works quite well, in the air it gives me a 1 euro coin at 40cm, the ground potentiometer on dial number 5 approx. and the La discrimination has not been deviated, a gold earring sounds good and an iron earring bad. I will try it in the field but it seems that it will go well.

GM coils are indeed having close specs!
Never occured to me to think that way!
                    Cheers!

Hello again, I forgot to say that not all of them work, it only works well with the 9" the Fighter 13x11 model changes and no longer works the same. I would have to adjust the machine to the coil.

Pirate Apolonia coils also work but are not as sensitive to gold.

The coils on a Muskeeter Advantage also work. There are variations in behavior.

                      Thank you very much friends.

I would advise you never to do that! Once you crack open the CZ detector; there is no going back!
Unless you are a top expert who specializes in the CZ series. And unless you have all the service data for that machine.
                        I have had 2x CZ5 and 1x CZ3D so far.
They are very sophisticated machines with many trimmer potentiometers and many very precise parameters that you have to adjust with trimmers.
                        A very delicate task.
Without the original service documentation... it's walking a tightrope at high altitude.

Good morning, I bought the machine very cheap because it was broken and did not turn on, I was able to resurrect it, and when I opened it I saw that it had many adjustment trims, crazy.

I don't want to touch them because then it is difficult to retune, I have the repair manual where it explains each adjustment, I have read it and it is complex.

The best thing is to try with coils with similar characteristics that can work, the only thing that scares me is the resistance of the bulb, which I don't even know what it's called.(It has been mentioned in this forum that it is a stabilizer, but I don't know its name in case I had to order one. Does anyone know?)

I think it will stick with the GM coil.

If I have helped someone with this I am happy, it is not always necessary to ask.
