  • Tesoro Lobo Coil

    Hi friends!

Many of Tesoro coils has 20 degrees as the correct phase relationship for a DD coil, and 200 degrees for a concentric.
But Lobo Coil is different or equal?

I am asking because Lobo has about 1,35mH for TX and about 10mH for RX.
Is there anyone has an original Lobo to check this relationship?

The TX-RX phase of any IB coil should be close to 0°. Or 180° if one of the coils is upside-down. The only deviation from this is due to the TX coil resistance. For a 1.35mH TX coil running at 19kHz you would need a coil resistance of 58Ω to achieve a 20° phase shift. More likely the shift is 1-2°.

      Hi Carl!
      Thank you for your reply.

I am building this detector. About the DD coil, I don't have a replica of the form as the original. It is wider.
I'm referring to the coil housing.
But I think it will works the same, is it correct?

Is there a reason why tesoro has used a narrow one?

Different companies have used different shapes. Some people prefer elliptical DD coils, some people prefer round DD coils.
