Cable and fittings?

First time ordering components. Which brand of shielded cable and fittings would you use? I'm building a 6" coplanar search coil. Ive attached a picture of the pin configuration. It is a Teknetics T2.

Part numbers would be helpful.

Brand/Style

Visit: Thomas Distributing on the web and look in CB Microphone section. They have identical plugs that run from 3 to 6 pin and work on Minelab, Garrett and others. Should work on whatever detector you have.

Detector cables vary &

perhaps you should try Belden website. You would have to have a part # or know how many wires and sheilds are in the cable you have on your working coil. If you have this info, the Belden site should provide a part # to purchase as I'm sure they still sell to distributors only.
Once you come up with part # of a cable that will work, should be able to find an electronics parts house that would sell the length(s) you require.

Still looking for that type of connector? This connector is a Taiwan brand. This is what dealers told me... They are very common in Asia and almost every shop I have been in Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Indonesia who sells electronic components have it. The price vary between USD3..4 for a connector incl. socket. The connector dos only come together with the socket. I never have never seen it seperate.... I'm using the same type of connectors for my detectors.

Hello Circle C Digger!

Since you are building a coil for a Teknetics T2, would you share what you have discovered about the T2 coil? Pinouts? Coil parametes (impedance, resistance, capacitance)?

I would like to build a probe for the T2 and the above info would be most helpful.

Hills Components in Watford UK sell these they are 50p each (around $1) I don't have the part number but a search of their website under connectors might do the trick.

I can see if they still do them and buy some in, but with a minimum order of £35 ($85) I'll have to get some serious orders from people on the forum to justify this in fact I'll place a MOQ of 10. Sorry but can't afford to make a loss.
