  • White's MX Sport

I'm thinking of buying a DD coil described as 'Detech 13" coil for Whites Mx Sport'.

Does anyone know if the White's MX Sport detector incorporates any electronics in the coil assembly, or does it use just a simple DD coil?

    Thanks

    No electronics in the coil.

OK I got my new MX Sport coil. It has an 8 pin connector - 7 pins around the edge and 1 in the centre. Does anyone have a wiring diagram? Pins 1 & 7 are connected, 50.6 Ω (Rx?) and pins 2 & 3 are connected, 2.0 Ω (Tx?). I haven't got round to measuring the inductances yet. I would guess that the centre pin 8 is connected to the shield - is there any way to determine this? That leaves three 'spare' pins.

          This is my recollection:

          Pin1 -- RX- (shield)
          Pin7 -- RX+
          Pin2 -- TX-
          Pin3 -- TX+

The other pins are not used. The MX Sport was in very early development when I left but I selected the M12 8-pin connector as the new standard. The other 4 pins were for power (+/-) and serial data (clk, data). The intent was to include the preamp, micro, and accelerometer in the coil. That didn't happen.
