Hi everyone. My name is Greg. This is my first time on this forum.
I'm very new to building detectors. In fact I'm working on my first one right now. Obviously many of you are quite experienced with many different types of coil designs. My question is what makes a good search coil in general? What coil design parameters make for a good performing coil...high Q, low DC resistance...number of turns...wire size...etc. etc.?
I'm building a variation of a Hammerhead detector, and the coil frequency will be somewhere around 10 Khz or below.
Thanks.
Greg
