  • ace 250 coil on whites spectrum

will the ace coils(6.5K) work with Spectrums (6.0-7.2K adjustable)?
Can anyone provide info on plug/modification?
Whites uses 4 pins and a center pin,I do not know about Ace.
    Thanks and HH,Mont

    ACE 250 9x12 coil connections

Coil Plug: (MCM cat. no. 27-725, CONNECTOR FEMALE 5 PIN PLUG, WWW.MCMELECTRONICS.COM)

Chassis Jack: (MCM cat. no. 27-730, CONNECTOR MALE 5 PIN JACK)

    Transmit coil : pin 1 (black/shield) and pin 4 (white) (5.5 ohms, 2.41 mH)

Recieve coil: pin 2 (black/shield) and pin 3 (white) (31.2 ohms, 1.45 mH)

pin 5 not connected in coil. (however, there is a green wire in cable)

Pins 1 and 2 are connected to chassis ground in the circuit pod.

I replaced the connectors on my 1979 Garrett Deepseeker VLF/TR ADS with the plugs and jacks. I can use the ACE coils on the ADS and the ADS coils on the ACE. The best performance is with the ACE 9x12 on the ADS. It will detect a dime at 11 inches and a silver dollar at 17 inches. The ACE250 cannot approach the ADS performance with the same coil.

I have observed that the newer "automatic" features are easier to use but you lose performance.
