The Hot Head coils are made specifically for Kellyco, I believe by Wilson. They are usually a little larger than stock coils, which is why they get a little better depth. Otherwise, there is nothing special about them.

Yeah, Kellyco does put out a lot of junk with high profit margins. Great for business, not great for detectorists.

          KELLYCO/WILSON HOT HEAD COILS

Let me set this straight as far as I know! Years ago the original hot Head Coils were made by Wilson for Kellyco! Sometime in the last 10 years or so they must have had a falling out! About 10 years or so ago, Kellyco stopped advertising the Wilson Detectors, so I called Kellyco up and someone there told me that Wilson had gone out of business and tried to sell me some other brand of detector but I wasn't interested so I hung up on them! Having bought several Wilson detectors plus talking to Mr Wilson many times in the past, I decided to call him up! I told him what Kellyco told me and he was really surprised at the demise of his company! He told me that he was still in business plus he had given all the rights and patents of the Hot Head Coils to Kellyco. I think that the Wilson detectors will become or already become rare commodities. Kelyco on the other hand should be watched out out with EXTREME CAUTION!!!.................HH..............Joe

I have a Wilson VLF-710, years 80's, and this is a very good detector, the capability of discrimination is excellent.

              WILSON VLF 710

I owned one of the 1st ones on the Texas Coast back in 1986! It had P.I. depth with discrimination. I found a lot of silver coins, relics and rings with mine. It was Lightweight, a pleasure to use, very deep-seeking and a very versatile detector! I used mine for Relic, Deep Old Coin Hunting, Cache Hunting, and Beach Hunting. I regretted trading it off about 15 years ago! Most of the Wilson's and Wilson-Neuman detectors are real scarse today. I probably haven't seen a Wilson in at least a year! Presently I have a Daytona GBD, Daytona Rangar and a R&C2. The R&C2 is great for Relic Hunting and the Rangar ground tunes to the beach wet-salt sand like it wasn't even there. Found lot of coins and rings with the Rangar too!..............HH...............Joe

Just we found these coins into the wall of a XVIII century house. We discriminate at maximum the Wilson VLF 710 for to be sure and found 58 silver coins of different countries and years inside a small wood box:
(The next days I'll post photos of the Wilson VLF 710)

                  Hot head

I bought the 12" to search for a cache of silver coins buried by an 8 year old boy about 1981,on site where His family(My in-Laws) house was being built.
The house covers at least 30% of lot and and driveway and shed another 30 or so,Odds of finding it are very remote at best,But dug up this matchbook
                  safe at about 15"
I have been searching a CW outpost, cannot wait to go back.

                    MATCHBOOK SAFE AT 15"

Monte, when something like this is discovered so deep, it makes one wonder on how it got there! It sounds like it was buried maybe by a kid! But there are still a lot of questions? Too bad that the safe can't talk! It would probably have some very interesting stories to tell! If your loop is still fitting loosely on your lower rod, go to your local hardware store and buy some large plastic washers and use enough to make a snug fit! In some cases you may need to drill out the center hole to make it larger. But this way you don't have a floppy loop which I don't particularly like!..............HH..............Joe

                      ESTEBAN's CACHE OF 58 COINS!!!

Esteban that find is GREAT! Maybe you can show some close-up pictures of some of the better condition coins later! Also I noticed that the picture shown is only showing about half that number! I guess that you had to split the recovery with someone else! And maybe you can give a back-history of who you think hid the coins and how it is related to the present owners of that house! Just curious ..........Joe

Last I heard Wilson had a new machine called the NorthStar out and were still going strong. They went quiet for a while as his wife died a few years back and he went through a period of depression of so I was told. But now he's back and going strong again.

                          WILSON COIN SELECT

The Wilson Coin Select is Mr. Wilson's latest detector. The Northstar was discontinued about 2 or so years ago! Joe

No individual pics of the coins was taken. The coins was selled to a collector, but I have a list in some part of my saved old hard disk. I posted these in old Treasurenet forum some years ago. I related how was. The coins was "unwalled" at near 9.15 PM. In the pic, a woman (historian) writing the list. As you see, the box was repaired later.

All the coins are in order in the pic, some of these in piles because are similar type, as Spanish Carolus IIII, and the others, individuals.

But the question is HOW we check this part of the wall and no other. No for skeptics.
