  • CLONE PI

Hi, while i m working with my coils for tesoro golden sabre MD, i remember that my clone pi metal detector, wich is working excellent, needs a better coil design to perform has a nugget detector. So for been able to construc the correct coil i had read some tutorials about PI coils, but i fail at the time when i need to know a few thinks about clone pi, has frequency of operation, time delay, dumping resistor (range that can be experimented with, to adjust the coil). Please any comment or helping guide will be very helpfull.
Making this detector was not an easy job, cause i had to translate from Rusian to English and some times to Spanish, so some technical information are not well answer to me jet.

    In advance, many thanks

    Regards

    Hi,

I made it some day ago, It is good for nugget hunting use (Min sample delay is about 7us and pulse width is 100us). Your coil should be 250-350uH...

Hi 1843, nice to heard that.
Can you give me more details of your coil, like dimensions, wire diameter used, number of turns, etc.
I know you can modify the source code for Clone. I had made one of the first versions, with pic16F873A and is working ok. But i need some information for example about how to vary the sample delay and pulse width.
can you give me some advice on this.
      In advance, many thanks.
      Regards

        For an 8" coil you need 22turns of 26awg( 0.4mm ).

I have made the AVR version and don't know about the PIC versions...
Also I haven't the source code...only have the HEX file.

            I don't seek for nuggets...
            My ClonePI detects a coin(2.5cm) at 22-25cm.
