Mono coil... where is the dump R - in the coil or PCBoard

Damping resistors are on the PCB they have 4 groups of 3 resistors that total 360 ohms across the coil. -
yes - in SDxxxx, but in GPX I can not see this group RComment

On your GP3000 you will see a fet in a TO247 package near where the coil
wires enter the board,right next to this fet you will see what looks like a
1 watt resistor,its value will be 390 ohm,the resistor will be standing vertical.
Question: how and what did you use to remove the paint around the eprom ?
