  • compass coil mods

The compass scanners have the 13.77 freq while the MXT and M6n have the 14 khz. Is it possible to modify a coil for these detectors [like for example a 12.5 inch excellerator] so that it would fit on the compass machines? If so..... would it still work properly like you expect from a compass detector?

Or for example a coil suitable for tesoro cibola?

    Thanks..

    Eric.

The MXT uses wideband (untuned) coils, Compass probably used tuned coils. Tuning can be done on the PCB, or in the coil, or both. You would need to find out how Compass did the tuning (the TX might involve an LC oscillator), then make mods based on the inductances of the Whites coils to get them to work. I suspect it could be done, but will take some effort, and the Compass coils probably will no longer work.
