  • IB Coils - size matters

Hi, thanks to everyone for helping me with the previous questions I've had, you've all been very helpful and I'm just about ready to start building.

Now, my question, hopefully the last one, is about small coils. I wish to build a small coil. As the coil size gets smaller, the actual loop of wire is going to get thicker in order to get enough wire on the loop to satisfy the resistance/inductance requirements. Is this a concern, or is there another paradigm that takes over when making small (less than 4") coils?

Thanks again for all the help!

I am not experience in the real small coil area. I would think keeping the same parameters you could build one. Maybe Reg can answer this one. He has alot of experience in VLF's.
