Coil Self Resonance

Hi all,

With respect to coil self resonance test setup, figure 12 of bbsailor's document (making a fast pulse induction mono coil), what is the shape of voltage on the oscilloscope when adjusted to resonance frequency?

The signal on the scope should be a sine wave. You should vary the frequency of the signal generator. At the resonant frequency of the coil, you should see an obvious increase in voltage on the scope.

To add to what HL said, as you increase the frequency, the amplitude at the oscope will increase, reach a peak, and then begin to decrease. The peak amplitude occurs at the resonance frequency.
