coils.....
i found in my local emporium a collection of "hook up" wire
plasic coated
.5 mm center solid conductor
and gives about 1R per 6 meter lenth
this is nice for a bifilar coil
as the shop had several colours
i will set too work today to build a mak 2 multicoil set
from this and some cloth tape {normaly for heating insulation or for platerboard walls}
i used the approch with the last bifilar coil {very precice for bfo detector arrangement will double there sensativity and output and you can also make the coil directional depending on the twist direction and the winding order
i use a pre resistance measured wire 23R for triangle coil
or pi X pi a s a size in inches 9 " being the first overtone of pi 3.14 etc
so using a drill set to the direction i want to wind first
run off the run of bifilar from your two wires ....using the drill
then coil this
you can also add center tap etc
i tried this using the terrazo tap coil fet oscilator design and was able to increase its field by around 30% by replacing the tap coil with a bifilar tap
